Sorry to the manning organic gardening group or M.O.G.G as they so rightly should be called, not M.O.O.G as I called it, I was in no way meaning to refer to the analog synthesizer designed by Dr. Robert Moog.....just the sweet harmony of recycling and gardening that M.O.G.G will be showing us at the envirofar this year.

So many things are happening for this years event, so I'll just hook in and start by up dating you on the Manning Organic Gardening Group (M.O.G.G) who'll have a big presence this year.
M.O.G.G will be doing all day demonstrations on how to container garden. You can save heaps of cash when you grow your own veggies, with container gardening you can grow almost any vegetable and it allows you to continue gardening in small spaces with great success. Here's a link to 15 cool creative container garden ideas. http://planetgreen.discovery.com/home-garden/creative-container-garden-ideas.html Composting has an untold amount of benefits from better soil, and reduced the amount of organic kitchen waste going to landfill for starters, basically its a top thing to do. M.O.G.G will be demonstrating great ways of composting at this years event, as well as talking about organic gardening at their envirofair stall. Here's a bit of a low down on composting from the clean up Australia page. http://www.cleanup.org.au/au/LivingGreener/composting.html The Manning Organic Garden Group's demonstrations & stall will be a great addition to this years event, I personally am looking forward to getting this composting bizzo going well at my own home. I will give as many regular updates as I can with all the latest inclusions of enviro stalls, performers, enviro flicks, hands on workshops, inspiring envirotalks and speakers, must see demonstrations, green gate prizes plus loads more happenings for this years celebratory Envirofair. This year we launch Enviroblog with the announcement of guest speakers for our continuing series of envirotalks, and with the very urgent subject of coal seam gas mining and the very real threat to the Manning River and the entire region because of it, we would like you to join us in learning more about this urgent issue. Our first big treat for this years Envirotalks is that we will be showing GASLAND * see the trailer below - the award winning documentary on this very same topic & the detrimental effects it has had on communities across the U.S.A. It is a very important must see film as it's now happening in the Manning Valley. To accompany the GASLAND film, as part of our series of envirotalks, Bruce O'Connor from Lock The Gate Alliance Inc. Gloucester is bringing John Thomson from Lock the Gate Alliance Inc in the Hunter to talk on the actions landholders & citizens have taken to stop the prospect of mining their properties and environment in the Hunter Valley NSW For more info go to: http://lockthegate.org.au/ Also Erinn Masters from JR RICHARDSON & SONS will be answering the main questions they get asked "What really happens to my recycling once the truck empties the bin? Does it really not go to the dump?" and Erinn will be also speaking about the waste centre in Tuncurry a year in operation since the major upgrades, how well it is functioning, and how are we doing as a community in our waste disposal efforts. I am guessing we can always do more, but I am still keen to find out. If you would like to come to envirofair as a speaker please leave a message via contact us on this page, I am running out of available time slots for the Envirotalks series, so quick sticks if you want to get in to get you message out there. Don't blow it - good planets are hard to find. ~Quoted in Time Rosie. Ola Muchachos
